Shopping & playing Farkle

My started about my usual time and i messed around on the computer with windows live writer trying to get pictures loaded and the rest of my blog caught up. Around 11.30 am went to lunch and then to town to get dog food and a few other things. I go through lots of clorax disinfect spray. Trying to keep the germs down. The one thing i love about the wood flooring is i can clean it with soap, water and disinfect, with the carpet it was much harder to clean.

Larry & Barbara went to Litchfield with me, they are from California and didn’t bring a tow vehicle. They needed a few things from Wal-mart too, like dog food. They have 3 babies traveling with them.

We got back and they hadn’t been around the Lake so we took a drive around it and around alittle after 3 pm i dropped them off and went back to my own place. I took the dogs potty, did a few things and before i knew it .. dinner time had arrived. After dinner I went to the Cafe and played farkle with several others. We had a great time and of course the men argued the women cheated and the women argued the men were cheating. Jackson got to 10,000 first but of course Anna his wife ended up beating his score and once again the women win!

I got home a bit before 9 pm and just as i was pulling in so was Gabe and Kelsey. They came to spend the night and visit.

Still dreary and cold

I got up early and went up to help out in the kitchen. I did what little panning that needed to be done for the busy weekend. After i finished i returned to the RV and picked up and got my RV cleaned for the weekend. It’s been drizzling rain off and on and it’s still cold here!

After lunch i went over and helped the ladies with the curtains. They give me the easy job of sitting and pinning.

Before i knew it was dinner time and then we all met at the Cafe and played hand and foot. It’s amazing how many different ways this game is played. I did remember tonight to take my computer with me and got wifi so i got what i had finished blogging uploaded to my blog. I’m sorry it has taken me so long to get my blog updated. Wifi has been a struggle this summer and my phone let me upload photos. I didn’t get home until after around 10 pm. I ended up sitting up til after midnight!

Another rainy & cold day but warm apple crisp

I didn’t go help with curtains this morning. It’s been rainy and very cool here. My back just doesn’t do well with this weather. Later that evening we all met at the Cafe for some hot home made Apple Crisp! Virginia went and picked up apples and then made several apple crisp for everyone. It was really good. After eating we played a game of Hand & Foot and then it was back home. What a great thing to do on a rainy, dreary, cold evening.

A dreary day & helping with curtains

I got up and got what few dishes i had washed, then i made a few phone calls i needed to make and then it was time to get dressed and start my day.

The ladies are helping re-do curtains and i have been asked to help. I agreed to do what little i could. We meet at 10 am and i was elected the easy job of sitting and pinning the curtains to be hemmed. At first i was worried i wouldn’t last long as it was a bit chilly and when i get cold my back pain is much worse and i become very stiff. Luckily we turned up the heat and shut the door and then it was lunch time. After lunch it was much warmer and things went much better for me. We only put in what ever time we can and are not expected to do a certain amount of volunteer work which works out great for me. If i had to put in a certain amount of time i couldn’t do it with my disability as i never know from day to day or even hour to hour how my day is going to go.

I ended my day earlier then most of the women, even though they are older then me, they are much more healthier, i envy them.

I came back home and took the dogs out, it’s been a dreary day all day with drizzle of rain most of the day and very chilly. I think the high has been 46 degrees! To cold for me!

My evening is going to spent inside Ms. Southwind were it’s nice and toasty warm. Ms. Southwind is old. but she is home and i love her very much.

I sure hope you all much warmer then we are here. I’m counting the days until we can head to warmer weather ….

A Day of cleaning!

Oct 13, 2009

I got up early and started the dreaded task of cleaning Ms. Southwind. I haven’t done much cleaning since arriving here. The front of the cab is buried to the ceiling! Since convention and a weekend of spending the weekend with Hailey the RV was in need of some serious cleaning. I started my morning with stripping the beds, getting laundry going, doing the dishes and sweeping, scrubbing and then polishing the floor. I love my wood flooring over the carpet, but …. i find i have to sweep more often and i hadn’t scrubbed or polished in several weeks! I ended up doing 5 loads of laundry and luckily the laundry is just across the road from where i am parked.

It took me most of the day to accomplish of all this and then later that evening i needed to run and get a few groceries. I picked up a frozen pizza and got home threw it in the oven called that dinner. Put away groceries and showed and early to bed again.

I still need to do some serious dusting and washing the walls but that will be another day. It’s cold here and i’m so ready to head to warmer climate although the plan is not to leave until around the first of Nov.

Hope your all having a great one ….

A Ruff Day of Babysitting!

BI got up around 5.30 am and got dressed, got the last of Hailey’s stuff packed in the car and my stuff for the day. Got Hailey up and out the door by 6 am.

I arrived at my son’s house for a ruff day in the neighborhood! I’m watching a 17 month and a 5 yr old today. I can handle the 5 yr old but the little Toby man is quite the handful esp, when it’s nap time. He fights sleep for hours and barely sleeps 1/2 hr when he does finally go to sleep.

Earlier today i took him for a car ride to put him to sleep but the only problem is when you stop and get him out he is awake again and unfortunately it’s on the chilly side and so leaving him asleep in the car is not an option.

My youngest son Gabe came over this afternoon for backup but still no luck, no sleepy Toby man.

Hailey is always so good and the poor kid has to put up with so much with having a cranky little brother. She has had her world turned upside down with going from the center of attention as a only child. She is such a good sport about it and I enjoy the time i get to spend with her. I’m so thrilled we had the entire weekend with just her.

I’m also so thrilled that I only keep Toby man once in a blue moon! How i remember what it’s like to have a kid fight sleep. I do believe Toby is far worse then Gabe ever was! Now that i see Toby, Gabe wasn’t bad getting to sleep after all. Only a few minutes of his fits and then to sleep he went, Toby can carry on one for over an hour!

Tobman’s nap lasted about an half hour and then he was back awake and very cranky. Around 4.30 pm his aunt Jenny & Holly showed up and i asked if they were second shift and they said yes. Was i ever glad. Grandma said goodbye and got kisses and out the door i went running! I was exhausted and so glad to be on my way back home.

I enjoy and love my grand kids with all of my heart, but Toby is not quite old enough for grandma to handle on her own.

It was a early night to bed for me after a weekend of Hailey and all day Monday babysitting, grandma needed some rest.

Night all and hope your having a great one …

Game Night

Today it was raining and cold …. brrr i forgot just how cold Illinois can get in Oct! I spent most of the morning with a couple of friends. One old and one new. Barbara, Bonnie and I went to town to the thrift store and Wal-mart. I purchased several new shirts that fit me much better then my old ones. I also purchased hubby several new shirts … well new to us. Then it was to Wal-mart to get a new DVD player. The old one stopped working when the grand daughter was visiting.

I did 2 loads of laundry this afternoon, one load was our new clothes, the second was blue jeans from the past week.

Then we went to dinner and played some games with new and old friends. We’ve had a great week but i’m exhausted.

Sorry i forgot to take the camera along.

Hope your all having a great one … until next time
