A Dogs Life

It's cold and everything is covered in ice. Here is what my dogs are doing ..
Oh what a life spoiled dogs live ... They are feed high price dog food and love to be treated with all the people food they can get! They are petted by strangers and love all the attention they get. When someone tries to ignore them, they use their snots and get under the hand to be petted. They sleep in our bed, where they take all the room and covers. When they are sick, take them to vet and no matter the cost, buy their medication. They love to be taken out on their daily walks. They love to tease and chase little critters outside.
They have toys that they are allowed to leave strung around the camper, that hurts when you step on them. But most of, they get to lazy around and sleep all day and night!! Of course they know that you will put up with all of this and no matter what you love them. After all they are your babies that never grow up. But in return they also love you no matter in life happens. They are your best friend to the end, they will protect you no what, they will give their life for yours.

Happy 24th Birthday Tyson

We've really been having horrible weather! Rain, freezing at times, sleet & fog! I don't think I will ever be able to get out of this mess! Ugh ... on a better note. ....

Today is my oldest son Tyson's birthday. He turned 24 today! I hope you have a great day son, love and miss you bunches! Sometimes i get really home sick, esp on day like today that brings back wonderful memories of when my son was born. It was such a proud day. The first child. I can still remember the first time my husband saw and held him. He wouldn't let anyone take him. He just wanted to sit and admire him. .. yeah here i suffered through all the pain and misery and once he got his eyes and hands on our son, he just forgot about me laying there. Of course i am only teasing as it was wonderful to see him admire such a wonderful little package. It's one of the happiest times in your life. You have no clue how their gonna grow up and cause you many sleepless nights with worries and woes about them. you love them anyways. Nothing ever changes that, no matter how mad you get at them or what they do. Yes, they can break your heart, but deep inside that heart, there is always that pure love you have for them.
He now has grown up into a fine young man and is a daddy himself. With a 3 year old daughter and a son on the way. Happy birthday Tyson!

Look at all the ice! Wanted to get the rest of the hitch hooked up this past weekend. But, as you can see Mr. Winter had other plans.

So far haven't lost power. The lights flickered a little bit. But, am prepared. Have gas for the genny and propane tanks are filled.

Happy Birthday Ronnie

Today is my brother Ronnie's birthday. Wishing you wonderful day and many more to come. Sending you lots of hugs and kisses.

Wow, we woke up to the wind really blowing. The camper is getting a gently rock and every once in awhile get a little bit harder rock.

3 weeks from today and it's moving on time! I'm excited and look forward to touring Mississippi and Florida.

Today Wanda and I have plans again. I'm going to her house, yes she lives near by and volunteers at the same place we are volunteering at now. We are going to work on our quilts together. She is a quilter like me. It's amazing how much we have in common! Have a good day everyone.

Spending too much money!

Got the Dolly today! Have been researching and looking for a tow dolly for sometime now.

Did lots of research and for the tow car you have to use a tow dolly. Way too much expense to make it towable on all 4's. Wanted one that was better built. Got one that is adjustable in the size of your tow. The guy delivered it to Ms. Southwind's door all the way from Colorado! Great Service. He was very friendly and helpful, he went over the entire hookup answered questions and even changed the plug on Ms. Southwind. He made sure that the dolly hooked up to with no problems. He tested out the electric brake inside. After doing so it was decided that for $120.00 more it was better to go ahead and purchase one that goes on the trailer and that way it could be used with other trailers down the road. The dolly was $1220, total was $1340. I would recommend anyone looking for a tow dolly to check Gary out at American Tow Dolly, website .. www.americancardolly.com and phone # is 1-888-281-4396. If you or anyone you know needs a dolly. I highly recommend Gary. Thanks Gary you did a great job with us!!!

After finally getting the motor home parked, i had other plans for today as well. Oh yeah,
Since I've been here, i've made several friends and one of the ladies and I have really hit it off. We do lots of things together and today her and I took the day and went christmas shopping about 50 miles away! It was great, she knew where all the great places to shop were and she also had some great coupons! Her name is Wanda and it's amazing how we feel like like we've been best friends for years! I will miss her when we leave here in 3 weeks. But, I plan to return here again.

Yes, as always i spent too much money on my grand daughter. But hey, isn't that what grandma's are suppose to do? I do have to admit, i got my grand daughter some really cute clothes!

I know, with the purchase of the dolly and shopping i spent wayyyyyyy tooooo much MONEY!!

RVolunteers!!

Wow, being parked all summer has been great, but ... the stuff that you leave out and has to be packed back up and put away. I spent the entire morning packing and re-organizing things. Finally around 1.30 pm i had everything secure and moveable. Took the motor home in town and had the propane tank filld. It was on E, 18.8 gallons of propane and $48.11 later. Got back to the campground and reset up.

Got exciting news. When got back, i listened to a voice mail i had and was accepted as RV Missionary Volunteer! I am now officially a member of their organization and family. Look forward to being a better servant for God. I have spent the summer volunteering at a one of their facilities and it has been a wonderful summer. I really feel that God lead me here with a purpopse in mind.

Okay your asking who and what is RV Missionary Volunteers?? .... A Christian person or persons who live in their RV's and are volunteering one’s time & talents to help others through U.S. Mission Services. U.S. Missions coordinates volunteers to assist churches and ministry institutions with construction and evangelism projects. RVers share their time and talents by volunteering from a few days a year to full time working in construction and evangelism. Presently there are 96 projects that include churches, Bible colleges and universities, Challenge centers, children’s homes and district camps. Last year volunteers saved projects an estimated $2,555,100 in labor costs alone, and gave more than 127,755 hours of their time.

Each year hundreds of people from a wide variety of vocational and professional backgrounds dedicate their time, skills and resources to enhance the growth and building of our churches and ministry facilities. If you have a desire to serve and utilize your God-given abilities, there are opportunities throughout the United States and its territories waiting for you.

Your asking why we choose to become RV Missionary volunteers instead of work-amping? As anything in life it's a matter of choice. I feel it's a calling I have received from God. Missionary work & work-amper's are basically the same, their both RVolunteer.
Work-amper's & RVolunteer Missionary are asked to donate their time doing volunteer work. This work involves the skills that they have to offer. In return they are furnished full hookup sites, and sometimes their meals or other amenities. Some of the state, federal government, campgrounds and other work-amping jobs will offer a pay for any additional hours worked.

The team has a new direction in life. God will be leading the team into the direction he wants. Who knows what is ahead of the team, weather it be doing a RVolunteer job, or it. The team does not know where the next job is going to come from. God will lead in the right directon.

What I have learned in the past years is ... life is too short. Material things are just things that one possess that are only borrowed. As long as you have a roof over your head, weather it's living in the RV or a stick home, clothing on your backs, & plenty to eat. God has promised he would provided us with all the basic needs to survive in this life. Now instead of working to possess things, work to help change lives. Being content, happy and most of all receive the holy spirit in your hearts in doing what God has lead me to do at this point in time in my life. Enjoy the fellowship with others that share the same beliefs and are working to better change lives. I have found that I enjoy this new direction much more then I did the old one. I have found the benefit of work-amping gives more options & opportunities in the RV lifestyle.

What better way to spend our lives doing not only what we've dreamed about, but also doing what God has lead us to do? We are traveling in our RV and seeing the country as we are volunteering, helping to build churches, campgrounds, facilities, and changing lives. Life is great!

Nothing much Happening...

Nothing much really happening here. I haven't been feeling well. I've been down in my back. The cold weather is getting to me and i'm counting the days until I head to Florida!

I spent the day doing some research on some things I'd like to do on the trip to Florida. I did make a meat loaf in the crock pot. The wind is really blowing here. Every now and then get a gently rock. You know it's icky outside when the dogs don't even want to go outside. They go outside and do their jobs and want right back inside.
