Happy Leap Day!

Happy Leap Day! Every 4 years we get an extra day.

I spent the afternoon sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine. It's a beautiful day. Later when Barbara got back she came over and visited with me. Here is a picture of Duke enjoying the shade.

Here is a picture of Barbara and the dogs greeting her. The dogs really like Barbara.

We had some excitement at the ranch. A baby calf was born and we got to watch him. I got pictures of him before he stood and taking his first steps. It was so awesome to watch. In the pic's he is only 10 mins old! Sure made me miss home though. I enjoyed raising livestock and taking care of them. Those were some wonderful days when i was physically able to work on the farm. Unforuntally those days are gone and now i just admire from afar when i see such miracles happen.

Several new volunteers arrived today. It's amazing how some go and others come in. I love meeting and making new friends. What a blessing it's been for us to be here.

Around 6.30 pm, I went over and played Mexican train with Barbara and Ed. Of course poor Barbara and I couldn't win a game. We still had fun though.

Well another night of not sleeping. Ughhh this is getting old!! I didn't get up this morning until around 9 am. I haven't been working in school because i've haven't been sleeping and when i don't sleep, i don't fel very good.

I picked up a bit and then it started to rain. It wasn't a bad rain and the sun is trying to peak out now. It's 10 am and already 68 degrees! They say were may get some strong storms later today and it's suppose to be a cool front heading our way.

Another beautiful day!

I woke up, but still tired. For some reason i haven't been sleeping well. I'm struggling with what I should do. Should stay in Florida for the summer, should go back to Illinois? Expecting a new grandson in April. If return home, i will have all summer to spoil and get to know him, as well as spend time with my grand daughter. Yet, i would love to spend the summer in Florida, esp near the beach. So i've haven't been sleeping good with that weighing on my mind.
I got up this morning and decided to do some deep cleaning. I stripped the beds and washed everything, then i ran the vacum cleaner I also washed all the mirrors. Did the weekend dishes. I also washed all the rugs. After spending all morning cleaning after lunch i sat outside and enjoyed the sun shine and beautiful day. Barb sat out with me and we worked on our crafts, Nadeen joined us for a bit and so did Jo.

Went to dinner and after dinner i rode with Larry & Jo to go watch the boys play basketball. We had a great evening and when i got home i watched some TV and after CSI went off at 10 pm i headed to bed.

Another rainy day!

I got up early, the dogs woke me up to go potty. Ughhh i can never go back to sleep after they wake me up. I was up late last night working on a new program. I haven't done much this week since I've been sick. Thursday and Friday it poured down rain here all day and night. I snapped a few pictures thursday of the rain.

One thing with getting up early, after i did some cleaning on the camper. I hadn't cleaned in over a week!!! I also washed the mirrors all off from when my grand daughter was visiting. Then i got me a shower and this afternoon I am also doing a load of laundry. I took out the trash, as that has been a everyday thing lately. I took the dogs for a long walk and wore out all of us.

The sun is shining today and it's a beautiful day, i opened the windows, as i've had the air going most of the week with being sick. It feels good to let the fresh air inside. There is a nice breeze.

Well i'm going to help Cheryl on her computer. until later .... i went over and helped my friend Cheryl with her computer and we started her a blog. After doing that for a few hours, i came back home and set up the lawn chairs. Barbara came over and we sat outside and visited, Jo, Bob & Nadeen stopped by for a brief visit. Then the sun went down and it was getting a bit chilly so we all went back to our campers.

I fixed supper .. i got off easy tonight .. was in mood for french toast! I love french toast.
Here is what my pooch's were doing
most of the day while it rained.

2 more tires!

I woke up around 3 am and it was cold in here. After better exploring i realized, no power! Yes, I woke up and tried the breaker in the camper, no luck. The pole light outside has power, so get on some clothes on and check the breaker on the pole and yep, that solves the problem!

I go back to bed and being the good mother i am, get up and around 7 am and let the dogs out, they can't hold any longer and are begging to go outside.

I couldn't get my stove hood to work the other day and so after. After exploring and trying different things, finally figured out It has a spring reset button under the screen and apparently i bumped it with a pan or something and had to reset it. After getting that fixed, rode into town to see about getting supplies.
Here is the shop and inside The big metal thingie i took pictures of above is going to be the fire escape for the new building. It's looking great and the platform is done, all it needs is the stairs now!

Here is Duke, enjoying the shop area. This is the outside of the shop here at TC. This sign is over the door.

I noticed that one of the back tires was almost flat. Yes, just bought 2 new front tires last saturday and so here go again. Went to Wal-mart and had 2 back tires put on. Wow spent $206 last Saturday and $209 today. Ughhh that hurt the belt.

When got back, sat outside and Barbara came over and sat with me. While we were sitting outside we noticed these birds flying around. I don't know what kind of birds these are but we enjoyed watching them fly around. Does anyone know what they are ???

Mike and Paul were working today, trying to get what they could finished up before heading out tomorrow. Here is what i caught Mike doing. Really working hard .. just kidding, he was a blessing to Bob the past 2 weeks.

Yes, Paul was working very hard ... only it wasn't the drill running ... LOL Just teasing.
It's been a blessing having them here.

Later in the afternoon while we were sitting outside we noticed the kids playing and went and took pictures.

Of course Mike the big kids was in the middle of them. He was in the group playing tag football.

The DI's were also playing (Drill Instructors)

The boys in the orange were doing exercises, when in orange they in trouble. Not a good thing.

These boys here were playing basketball.

Here is Paul and his son. His son graduates in July.

Another Beautiful Day!

Wow, it's another beautiful day here, a perfect day to open the door and let the sun shine in. I'm still working on trying to catch my blog up, yes, i know i'm still behind from my vacation. Hey i don't spend all my time online, just half of it ... hehe I find when i am online, i'm more interested in reading what you all are doing instead of posting what is going on us. Plus i'm only about 7,000 emails behind!

I did catch these sower men working. hmmm retired people do still work some .... just teasing guys ... you work very hard .. Looking great keep up the great job!
Babe was even working ... Babe is the ranch gaurd dog .. as you can see it's a hard job enjoying the sunshine!
Uh Oh, houston I have problem ... i was fixing lunch and went to turn on my hood light and blower and nothing! I checked the other things and they all worked, didn't fix something right!! Here I am slaving over a hot stove cooking and baking a cake for game night and my blower doesn't work. Ughhh it's heating up in here!

A few of us ladies spent the afternoon sitting outside, talking and I worked on the quilt i'm making for the grandson. I'm still working on the embroidery, one was knitting and one was making a hat.

Got together with some friends and we played Mexican domino's, we had a blast and the fellowship was wonderful. Ed & Barb, Cheryl and a bit later Harold & Romelle joined us then Paul & Mike came later. After we finished with the dominoes, we ate cake and Harold drug out his puzzles and we worked and worked on them until after 11 pm! Finally all of us were exhausted and decided to retire to bed and work on the puzzles tomorrow. Got back to the camper and took the dogs out and then I headed to bed. It was lights out for me .......

Happy Valentines Day!

Today is the day for lovers! But weather you have any one in your life or not, you can still enjoy the day. I hope you all have a wonderful day and Happy Valentines Day.

I got up this morning and started getting dressed. i have to run some errands. As i was getting dressed the power went out! I immediately started cheching the convertor box to make sure it wasn't on the camper end. I also went out and checked the outlet box. I go back inside and think well at least i do have battery back up! But .... Oh NO ... I went to finish getting dressed and no power! The only thing that would work is the hood over my stove and the light. Nothing else! I found out that the electric company is replacing a pole and they said it sould be out for about 3 hours. Usually that isn't a problem as I have battery back up ... wrong !!! At least i can say, don't have snow this V Day! Although when i talked to the kids, they said they got 2" of snow. Hmmm ...... I finally get dressed and head out the door.

I didn't accomplish everything i wanted to while i was out, but I mailed my grand daughter's Valentine Present today, YES I'm a bit late, but you all know me, i'm never on time, nor do things the way most of you would. Hey what can i say, God made me special!

When i got back home still NO power, so it was time to look at the convertor again and finally discover that the fuse in it is bad, have a 20 but no 40 but hey it will work until can get one. Around noon the power comes back on. All is well inside of Ms. Southwind again.

I spent our evening going and watching the boys play basket ball!

The JV Team played first, their in the blue!

Hey look, i caputred the jump ball and yes, TC got it first! Way to go TC!!

I guess your all wondering who won the first game ???

Yes, they won! 68-31 We were the home team for this game. They played a Baptist put together team.

The boys played a great game and guess what, there was a girl on the baptist team and didn't do a bad job!

As you can see in these pictures the TC boys had a large size fan club. I think most of the RVer's were here to support the boys.

I know what your all wondering now ......

Yes, I was my normal self and got into the game and as usual, i never shut my mouth the entire game. I guess even in my older age, i'm still the big mouth i've always been. But, hey isn't that one of the things you all love about me? Hehe Guess what Tyson & Gabe, your not the only one mom cheers for and embarrass ... See your not alone .... LOL

During half time we had some wonderful entertainment! Larry one of the RVolunteers played the piano and even though the piano needed some tuning he did a wonderful job! Thanks Larry

Larry's wife Jo was so proud of her husband that she had a bag and went around begging for donations. Unforuntally we are all Volunteers and so every penny we get goes toward fuel to go to the next stop. Sorry Jo, but nice try on trying to get fuel money .. LOL

Here is pictures of the Varsity team. They are in the maroon & yellow outfits. This is Paul, he has a son in the TC program and has come to TC to volunteer his time.

Mike is in the picture to your right, he has a son in TC program also and is here volunteering his time .

Paul & Mike are both special guys and it was a blessing to get to know them.

Okay your wondering if the varsity won also ??

Here the guys are showing good sportsmanship. Way to go TC!!

Yes they did!!! 62-48! We were guest during the varsity game.

After the game, stopped by Hardee's and went through the drive thru, I was still hungry. Got a cheese burger and went home. After got home,i went to bed. It was all lights out!
