Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to me and all you Mother's out there. Happy Birthday to my mother in law today also.

I woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep, so i got up and let the dogs out, I worked on pulling out the awning, since their not calling for rain anytime soon. Then i put my table cloth on my picnic table as the kids are coming sometime today. Here is what our tempary new home looks like. After i got done working i went and took a shower, on my way back to the camper my friend Cindy who is parked a few doors down was outside, so i stopped and said hi. She invited me to go into town and go yard saling. I jumped at the chance, i hadn't been yard saling in over a year .. I love yard sales!

Since we were about an hour from where we used to live, we called the kids a few days ago and told them we were gonna be in the area. So the kids came to visit and we had a great time. We cooked and ate outside and then we all went fishing. We had a blast and the kids had fun catching blue gill and rock bass. Hailey caught her first real fish and she had a blast doing it. As you can see, Papa didn't fish, he was in charge of taking them off the hook for everyone.

We fished until dark and then we went back to the camper and had cake that the kids brought. Hailey wanted a pink cake, as she knows it's grandma favorite color. It was a strawberry cake and very good! Hailey also put on a show for us, she showed us how she is learning to dance. Uh oh .. we may have a dirty dancer in the family! It was adorable and i also caught the entire dance on video!

The kids left late and we were all wore out, yet they still had the long drive home.

I had a great Mother's Day! Thanks kids for making my day a great one!!

LOL When i was younger she used to have to bribe me with things of her i wanted to do the dishes and her chores so she could get ready and leave on her date with her husband (at the time her boyfriend) Yes, even at a young age i was rotten as can be ... Hey i'm the first to admit i was a rotten kid, but hey it got me things i wanted ... ROFL

Happy birthday sis, hope you are having a great day! Love ya and miss you

I talked to my neice again tonight for a bit and she said my step dad was taken to the hospital today, it's nothing too serious so hopefully all will be well before too long. I hope you all get well soon

Planting flowers & we sprang a leak!

I got up and did my morning routine and then i went into town and bought some things. Actually, hubby woke me up around 4 am and complained he was getting wet. I thought i was dreaming and told him to use the umbrella ... lol

He woke me up again and said, no i'm getting wet in bed. I then told him, nice, at least it's your side and not mine ..ROFL Well i finally came awake enough to get up and help him and sure enough his pillows were soaked, the rain was running in around the window seal, the curtain was soaked. I got some towels and kept wiping but the water still came in. Hubby got dressed and went up the ladder to see what he could see. It has stopped raining but were still getting water. He got the broom and swept the roof off, finally he came in and said it must be around the window seal because the roof looked fine and it's not leaking in the cabinets. We wiped the window and then put some duct tape around it to seal it until i can get to town and get some caulk. Back to bed we went, hubby had to put towels over his wet pillows and i did share one of my dry ones with him . See i can be a good wife at times ... well when i want to be
Since we were up i put the dogs out to potty and so they let me sleep until after 8 am .. wow good dogs! I went into town to get some sealant and I stopped by the local Dollar store and got some flower pots and soil. Then i headed to the local Wally world and got the sealant and some flowers. I bought myself a mother's day present.

Hubby sealed the window and the roof above it while he was at it. He wanted to make sure he doesn't get wet again, he even sealed my side as well .. oh yes, hopefully i won't get wet now either ! While he was doing that, i planted my flowers in the pots and sat them around my turf rug, they look so nice don't ya think?

Ooops, i worked too long on the flowers, i forgot hubby needed feed before going to work, he got a lunch meat sandwich. Welllllll no one is perfect and i'm first to admit i'm far from it. hehe

I chatted to my neice tonight online and she told me that my dad's heart is strong enough to with stand surgery and so a date is suppose to be set for him to have surgery. Let's pray that all turns out well for him. She says she will keep my posted. Apparently my mom has been ill as well again, but she is out of the hospital and doing better now.

It wasn't anything serious, that is why the family didn't call me. That is a down side to full-timing, when something happens you are not around and sometimes it makes you feel guilty that your not there to help your family out. I know that they all know that i love them and i'd be there in a heart beat if they needed me. It's not like were a small family. After all with 13 children, there is plenty to carry the work load, only 2 of us are out of state right now.

Happy Anniversary Hubby ... I Love You!

Happy Anniversary honey! Today is our 24th wedding anniversary, wow how time goes by. Hubby spent the morning catching up on his sleep before having to return to work tonight. What a nice anniversary present huh .. actually the GTG was our present and we really enjoyed it. I have met some new people here and they all seem really nice. Several are full-timers like us and this is where they are spending their summer also. Hmmm this must be a great
summer location!

I spent most of the afternoon trying to get wifi, but for some reason it just won't work! I talked to a gentleman here and he said he was having the same problems. He could get a signal but couldn't get his browser or email to download,
dang that stinks.

Looks like i'm taking hubby to work tonight and i'm going wifi searching, i gotta have my internet!

Saying good bye to dear friends

We packed up and are heading to our new location today. We have had a great weekend and met some wonderful people. Ate lots of good food. We hate to see the weekend end. We headed out around 2 pm. We stopped along the way to fill up Ms. Southwind, she was getting low on fuel. Uh oh, something is wrong. We begin to wonder if we were going to make it to our next location. Ms. Southwind kept losing power and back firing everytime we'd hit a bump or go up a hill. Were hoping we just got some bad gas and hubby is gonna change the fuel filiter and get some heat and put in it. If not, then it looks like we will be heading to a repair shop if it's something hubby can't fix.

I had my first experience with losing everything out of the frig, a big gust of wind hit us on a curve and hubby had to struggle to keep us on the road. Everything came flying out of the frig, it was horrible. All the left overs from this weekend ended up thrown all over. I had a entire pitcher of tea and it went all over the carpet. I cleaned it up as hubby drove and now i have added to my list some bungie cords and eye screws. I'm going to start locking the frig down. That is the first time that has ever happened to us going down the road. Guess we all learn from our mistakes.

We finally arrived to our new location and got setup. We were out touring and hubby ran onto a bird that was having troubles trying to fly. He caught the bird and it was wrapped up in fishing string. He wasn't a happy bird. He kept trying to bite hubby. The bird thought he was out to harm him instead of helping. He got the fishing string from around his legs and then it was wrapped up in his mouth, we feared he had swallowed a hook. But, luckily he hadn't, he just had gotten the string around inside, trying to bite and get it from his legs. We got the bird freed and set him free and he flew into a near by tree. Guess it was meant to be that we came along to save him. It's nice to save wildlife. All is well and we like what we see of our new home.

I called the office and asked for their code, as i will have free wifi here, i could see the wifi and get connected, but it wouldn't do anything .. Shoot no wifi tonight

3rd Day at GTG

I woke up at 6.30 am even though i went to bed late. I got up and baked a cake, today is Mike B'day and so i'm going to surprise him with cake and ice cream tonight. That is another great thing about taking my home where ever i go, i always have things that i need when a fast minute event or something comes up. I straightened up and then I took the dogs for a walk and snagged some free wifi.

We got back and I made some fried biscuits with cinnamon & sugar and sausage patties for breakfast. We are having a pot luck breakfast and dinner tonight.

I was visiting too much today and so I was running late for dinner. I made a broc/rice casserole and potatoe salad, while hubby grilled Pork steaks.

I spent the day visiting and snagging free wifi when i could .. hehe Were having a blast, the GTG is great. Making new friends and visiting with old friends.

2nd Day at the GTG

I woke up around 6 am and got up and did supper dishes and picked up. My roast is cooking fine and smells so yummy. Then i took the dogs out to potty. I finished setting up outside as the rain seems to have stopped. We had a great potlock dinner and the food was so good. I bbq the roast for sand wiches and then i made some potatoes and carrots with the broth, they were really yummy. The best part was the time spent visiting in the evening after dinner around the campfire laughing and visiting.

Were having a great time here, so far the GTG is going great!

Heading to a GTG

I got up early, got the last minute things we used put up, took me a shower and started hubby's coffee. Then i got him up and he did what needed to do outside to get us ready. Then we double checked everything and headed out. We had to dump our waste tanks before we headed out. We arrived, got set up even though its rained most of the day! That is advantage to owning a motor home, if it's raining outside you can still pull in and set up. It did stop raining when we got there, so we were able to level and plug in.

We met Peter and Heidi from New Jersey and Lou from Missouri was already there. We had a very nice visit. We spent the evening visiting. Mike from Springfield came in later that evening.

With the nasty raining weather, Ms. Southwind made a very nice meeting place. Hmmmm I do believe Ms. Southwind likes to entertain.

Before i went to bed, i put a roast on to cook for tomorrow night potlock dinner.

Laundry & grocery Day

We went and did the laundry and bought a few groceries. We are going to a Get Together in one of the RV groups i belong to online. Last year was our first year of doing this and it's really neat. I love meeting new people.

Packing up

Wow, the month of April is gone already and were starting another great Month in Ms. Southwind and her adventures she holds for us.

I spent the day getting things put away and packed up. We are moving on Thursday morning. It's been a geat stay here but i'm looking forward to seeing new scenery. Tomorrow is grocery and laundry day as i like to get those things done before heading out and not having to do them once we get on the road.
