The Beach

After getting about 5 hrs sleep we all got up and slowly got around. We got things ready and headed to the beach. It was a beautiful day for the beach! We've been having high 70's degree weather.

We went to a state park and bought a family season pass. There is more parking and it's more of a family atmosphere there then at the public beach. Too many kids drinking and doing other things. There is no alcohol allowed in the state parks.

Here are some pictures i snapped of Gabe and Bobbie in the Ocean.

The water was bit on the cool side but as you can see they didn't let that bother them.

I have no idea what this is, but Gabe found it in the water. Some type of crab?

After several hours of enjoying the Ocean we left that spot and went down to the pier and of all times not to have my camera with me! A guy there had hooked a sting ray and so his buddy hooked onto him as well, they pulled him in close enough for another buddy to hook him with a huge 4 prong hook and it took 3 of them to pull the ray up onto the pier. It was huge! They guy the barb off and then went to working getting their jigs back from the ray. Then they threw him back in. Unfortunately the ray will die as when they hooked him with the huge hook they got him in the gills. It was neat to see the ray, yet sad to see the animal have to die for not.

I can now say that i have seen a real live ray, like the one that killed the Steve Erwin the Crocodile hunter!
