Happy 4th of July!

The park is almost full. There are only 3 campsites left in the entire park. Even though it's almost full there is almost to none activity going on. No one seems to be grilling out, no one is moving about anywhere. I am assuming it's due to the extreme heat & humidity. The temps are in the 90's with humidity in the 80's and heat index around 102!!!

Around 7 pm I got in the car and headed to Pier Park. They are having a band and fire works. Here is what I saw upon arriving. The park is full of people! Was surprised that traffic wasn't as bad as it had been all day long. They had lots of police officers directing traffic. Early and most of the day there has been a long line of cars. Trying to get around was almost non exist due to long lines of traffic.

Got lucky, there was plenty of parking left in the mall parking lot at Dillards.

Parked the car there and remembered I forgot the lawn chair!! Ughhhh ... foruntally most people remembered theirs and there were several benches available for seating.

Walked around the park a bit and listened to the band. In my opinion the band stunk! The gal singing was pretty drunk when arrived and she kept announcing she was having more champaign!

Even the dogs in the park didn't seem to impressed ...... hmmmm

Finally around 9 pm the fire works started.

They were okay but they sure were not what I am used to back in Illinois.

Their grand finale was pretty neat, it was the ahhh in the entire display. I still think the finale they have back in Illinois is much more spectacular then it was here. One good thing is I can say I've watched the fire works in Florida!

I hope you all had a wonderful day and remember the men and women who have fought and gave their lives for our freedom and indepenance.

May God Bless you all.
