Trip to Alabama

Got up early and got things around. I took a trip into Alabama. I went to my first camping world!!
I purchased what is called a Lightening Rod for the propane water heater and it turns it into an electric heater. Wow, that is good because I pay for propane, but electric is free when Ms. Southwind is hooked to shore power. It was expensive, $107.00 but will pay for itself in the long run. Also got a new outside water hose connector, had to work on the old one and since we couldn't find one where I was at, so had to make one. Now i have a new one! Also purchased some awning repair glue to fix the pin holes in the awning where the wind caught it and put some holes in it. Spent $129.57 although the awning repair will have to take place later because can't get the awning out right now. Am parked so close to a mobile home and electric pole.

Then went grocery shopping .. WOW, things are much higher in Alabama then they are in Illinois! Did find some good deals on meat, they had hamburger for $1.89 lb, little sausage weinners were only $1.00 per pkg, roast beef was buy one get one free!

I also purchased a new pair of dress shoes. My old black ones are just so wore out that the heal fell off of them. Spent $80.00 at Wal-mart! Grocery budget is not going to work out here, since the prices are higher, so gonna have to increase the food budget. Hopefully, what purchased will last 2 weeks.

Hooked up the Lightening Rod and it did a great job heating up water and took first shower inside of Ms. Southwind! Since living inside of Ms. Southwind have always used campground showers because water heater is propane only and it cost for the propane. The campground showers are free. Yes, I'm a cheapo! Well now don't have to do the campground showers if don't want to because with the lightening rod, water heater is now ran off electric, which is free!!!

Ms. Southwind maybe old, but everything inside of her works well and now that i have hot water, i have all the modern facilities!! I just love living inside of Ms Southwind!!!

It was a beautiful warm day outside today and took the dogs for a long walk. Well ... it's getting past my bedtime and so i will see you all later ... Good Night Everyone ......
